Wendy Nichols and Robyn Collins

Wendy and Robyn have one aim in life - to make a spectacularly good living from writing full time.
Wendy and Robyn, both from Brisbane, met through the CB network and, with their shared aim in mind, they formed a writing partnership in January 2005 with the sole aim of working together to succeed as writers.
Initially they had two goals: to write ebooks on education themes (because of their shared backgrounds in education) and to publish children’s books in Australia and overseas.
In the twelve months they have worked together, they have made steady progress towards their goals. They have written a five year plan, at the end of which they fully intend to be earning a high enough income from their writing that their long-suffering and supportive husbands can retire and be kept in luxury!
E-Books
In 2005 they have achieved some success with three e-books: http://www.freefrombullies.com/; http://www.speeches4teachers.com/ and http://www.fantasticfamilyfun.com/ E-book number four will be completed by the end of March.
Writing for Children
In addition, they have continued with their children’s writing with Robyn sending her second children’s novel, The Secret of the Niello, out last month, and Wendy getting ready to submit Zany Zoe and her Embarrassing Family in the near future. Robyn’s first published children’s novel was The Niello Necklace in 2004, and in the same year Wendy’s Crabbo and Clever Crabbo were published by WEE.
Romance Writing
The big new venture has been a move into romance writing. Wendy is the Sexy writer and Robyn the Sweet one, (Robyn says that Wendy’s books are doing great things for her love life!) and they each have a book out there – just waiting for acceptance.
For 2006 the plans are big. At least two or three more e-books, 3 romance novels each at publishers, and at least one children’s book each, or one joint effort.
So far the partnership has been a joy. Working together we are able to motivate each other and keep the writing going, not to mention being honest critics and proof readers of each other’s work. Our mantra is ‘We Can Do This’, and we are confident that we can. We have together written some 175, 000 words to ready-to-publish standard in 2005 and plan to double this in 2006.
